Trout Without Antibiotics and Growth Stimulants

Artesian water with high biosecurity

Using artesian water and a controlled environment reduces the risk of pathogens from open water bodies.

Stable environment

Automatic control of key water parameters and managed hydrochemical regime.

Healthy product

Under normal operation, the project minimizes diseases and the need for medical treatments.

Result: Premium product positioning, ensuring higher profit margins compared to the mass market segment.

Logistics Hub in the Center of the Baltics

2 km to Via Baltica (A4)

Proximity to the key European corridor (E67) allows fresh fish delivery from Berlin to Tallinn. Efficient logistics for Germany, Poland, and Scandinavia.

Riga — Daugavpils Highway (P5/E22)

Direct access to the P5 highway, part of the E22 European route, connecting to the country's main artery A6. Reduces delivery times to major Latvian cities.

Geographic Center of the Baltics

Latvia is situated exactly between Lithuania and Estonia, creating a perfect distribution base for the Baltic market (6 million consumers).

Result: Well-built logistics enable same-day fresh fish delivery to Riga, and short transit times to Vilnius and Tallinn.

Market Potential and Stability

Huge consumer market

The Baltic region's potential alone is 3,000 tons of trout per year. We fill a massive niche by producing 10 km away from a million-strong consumer market.

Direct import substitution

Currently, Latvia relies on imports from Norway and Poland. Our production can displace imports thanks to product freshness and zero long-haul logistics costs.

The future belongs to aquaculture

Ocean fish catches are declining while food demand grows. An aqua-farm is a tangible production asset in the food sector.

Result: You are investing in the real economy with sustainable demand and scaling potential, backed by financing and an operational team.

Frequently Asked Questions

Answers to key questions about the investment project

The grant from EU funds has already passed the approval stage and is coordinated with Latvian state authorities (www.lad.gov.lv). This is non-refundable financing aimed at supporting innovative aquaculture. The presence of such co-financing is the best proof of the reliability and national significance of our project.

This is our main technological advantage:

  • Biosecurity: Artesian water reduces the risk of introducing pathogens from open water bodies.

  • Minimizing medical load: In normal operation, the project is focused on reducing the risk of diseases and reducing the need for medical treatments.

  • Savings: The self-flowing effect reduces the cost of lifting water compared to a pumping scheme.

We rely on conservative market data:

  • Baltic Market: About 6 million people with an average trout consumption of 0.5 kg per person per year. This creates a niche of 3,000 tons annually.

  • Import substitution: Currently, over 80% of trout is imported from Norway and Denmark. Our goal is to replace imports with a fresh local product.

  • Logistics leg: We are located 10 km from Riga. The fish reaches the stores 1 hour after catching, whereas imported fish travels for 3-5 days.

  • The absence of international logistics costs makes our price unbeatable while offering higher quality.

  • Proximity to the Via Baltica highway opens up the Estonian and Lithuanian markets. Fish will reach stores on the day of catch.

  • Our farm (500 tons) will cover only 16% of this market.

Yes, the commercial demand for the project is confirmed by an official document:

  • Letter of Intent (LOI): The Latvian-Norwegian company Nidaros Seafood Latvia has officially confirmed its interest in purchasing up to 10 tons of fresh trout per week.

  • Full capacity coverage: The volume of 520 tons per year fully covers the planned capacity of our farm (500 tons).

  • Access to networks: This partner collaborates with market leaders (including Sanitex), ensuring product deliveries to the largest retail chains in Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia.

Such interest from a world-class processor indicates a shortage of high-quality local fish in the Baltic market.

No. The project team can take over operational management under a separate agreement. My team takes on the operational processes:

  • Control of biology and rearing technology.

  • Personnel management.

  • Technical maintenance.

Your participation is financial control. The team's remuneration is tied to the actually grown commercial fish, aligning the interests of both parties.

Yes. The basic project concept is focused on trout farming, however the project platform can also be adapted for Arctic char and, with additional technological modification, for salmon farming in low-salinity water.

Taking into account the temperature regime and climatic conditions of Latvia, these species may also be of practical interest for the further development of the project.

We have minimized risks at all levels:

  • Insurance: The designer's professional liability is insured with SIA If for €1,500,000.

  • Assets: The investor is the owner of a "hard" asset — land in the Riga region, a capital building, and expensive equipment.

  • Permits: The building permit has already been obtained, the status of the facility is Ready-to-build.

Technical leadership of the project is carried out by Vasily Krasnoborodko, an expert with 30 years of experience in aquaculture and fish farm design. The team has experience participating in the launch of more than 30 RAS projects in 20 countries, including Sweden, Thailand, and EU countries. Individual team cases have been covered in international and industry media.
